Yana Bartova
From the Shuar tradition I received my name Tatzimoi – “bird that accompanies families in their homes and orchards with its song”.
I was born in the Czech Republic. I studied cultural anthropology, African dance and theater. From there I started my real world learning by moving to Mexico where I lived for 10 years. There I dedicated myself to the ancestral path of desert medicine, temazcales, moon dances and singing. In those times I met the master plant Ayahuasca that meant a very transforming encounter. So I came to South America to deepen my relationship with the spirit of this Grandmother teacher, through years of apprenticeships and diets in the jungle, following the Shuar tradition, I found on this path my husband Mira Jempe with whom we have been walking for 10 years taking care of the altar of this master plant at the service of healing and divine consciousness from our Almasana home in the mountains of Vilcabamba, Ecuador and traveling to different parts of the world. I share medicine in women’s circles in South America and Europe, I am co-creator of the Women of Water Collective, expanding ancestry through song, medicine and art.
With infinite gratitude towards life I present myself before you.
